Some new aerial drone footage from around Darwin, Northern Territory, showcasing the natural beauty and unique colours of Australia’s ‘Top End’.
Some recent architectural photography for MODE Design and Essington School. Darwin, Northern territory.
Yep, it’s that time of the year again folks. Calendar time.
I’ve never been one for selling prints or postcards or playing the role of ‘artist’ but every new year brings a great excuse to share some personal work with friends and family and bring a splash of colour to people’s walls.
It has been a year of big unknowns and big adventures and I have been very fortunate to have seen, experienced and lived in one of Australia’s last true frontier regions, the amazing Kimberley. What a place!
Here’s wishing you and yours a happy, healthy and productive 2014!
To pick up your copy of the calendar hop on over here or scroll back through the blog for more photos from the amazing Kimberley.
Best wishes ~ Gary
If Melbourne is Australia’s rich and vibrant cultural hub, the Kimberley in Australia’s far north west is true Australian outback. Red rocky ranges, unspoilt landscapes and a sense of scale and geological history unlike anything I’ve seen before. Truly spectacular!
Very few people get the opportunity to see Australia’s remote Kimberley region in the country’s far north west, and even fewer see the Kimberley’s rugged north coast. This is as rugged as rugged gets.
Accessible only to outsiders by boat or plane the Kimberley Coast and the Admiralty Gulf are a sight to behold – this is a place where ancient landforms are framed with pristine turquoise waters, and sacred burial sites mark the home of a 50,000-year-old Aboriginal culture. Remarkable.
Some new work from the heart of the Kimberley, north-west Australia.
Ever wondered what a drive from Melbourne to Broome would look like?
I recently got the opportunity to do just that. Changing landscapes, changing colours and changing weather… More than 8000km condensed to a spritely 8 minutes. Enjoy. 🙂
It’s been a productive start to the year putting the finishing touches to the new website.
Completely overhauled, it’s now updated with lots of newer work, MUCH larger images, improved navigation and quick loading times. Plus, it’s now finally optimized for the iPad and iPhone.
So if you haven’t stopped by recently hop on over and take her for a test drive.
Happy new year folks!
Hope you’re all well rested, feeling rejuvenated and ready to tackle 2013 with gusto.
And what better way to kick off a new year than with a spiffy new calendar for your wall.
Ok, so I’ll be the first to admit the life of a calendar “artist” probably isn’t a quick path to riches (unless you’re Ken Duncan of course!) but it has become a nice tradition of sorts over the past 5 years – and a good excuse to share some personal work with friends and family each year.
So, if you’ve still got an empty spot on your wall, a couple of bucks in your pocket, and could use a little more colour in your life hop on over and get one while the year is young!
Here’s wishing you and yours every success and happiness in 2013!!
